I just returned from the Cooke City area. The Park has been getting some decent t-storms every afternoon and as a result, the Lamar and Soda Butte have been the color of mocha. Check in with Ronnie Wright at Beartooth Outfitters in Cooke City (look for the big Orvis sign). He has all the USGS quads and sent us off to the Beartooth Wilderness. It was great! I did fish Slough and Upper Lamar. You can catch fish there but it gets hot in a hurry. Fishing is typically over by 11:00 a.m.
I hope it works for ya’. Pay close attention to the flash mount . That’s where I had problems with fit. I got it in there but it was tight and I didn’t feel good about it. I decided to use the foam insert instead.

I bought one of the soft bags to go in my Pelican 1400. I was really disappointed in the fact that you are really limited with regard to space. It was a tight fit with my D70s w/lens attached. At times I thought I’d hafta stand on the freakin’ Pelican case, just to get it closed. I’d suggest saving your money.
I saw that to and it concerns me. I’m headed that way next week. I have noticed the high temps this week have been low eighties in Cooke City with a chance of showers.

Amazing video! What I found most interesting was the fact that once the calf was safely back with the herd…..the buffalo appeared to be seeking revenge. Any animal psychologist amongst us….that could weigh in?
On a lighter note…..the soundtrack from Jaws would go well with the first of the video….followed by the William Tell Overture when the herd comes to the rescue.
Ya know…I’ve bought way too many camera bags and packs in search of the perfect one. I needed something I could take backpacking and was indestructible. I finally stumbled across the Pelican case.

I’m headed to Yellowstone this summer and plan to spend a good deal of time photographing rising trout. I know the polarizer will be needed. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve had a rectanglular piece of ripple foam stuck to the side of my driftboat for the same purpose. It really is convenient as I am usually in the rower’s seat and typically do not wear my fly vest. When I change flies, the patch is just an arm’s length away. I even have a selection of streamers and bass bugs that permenantly reside there.

You might want to indicate if the job is “seasonal” as opposed to “year round”. This would probably make a difference in the type person you would attract. Might be a good position for a retiree in relatively good health.
