oh yea there are some bright spots all over the country absolutely even in texas, maybe even in ohio (wow I hated ohio).
I mean not the best dry fly river because the dry fly season is like 3 weeks, but big (like 28-36″) stupid fish sipping size 18 BWO’s for 2 weeks if pretty hard to beat.
My Boxes
-A classy aluminum box with metal clips, you open it up and there are gorgeous steelhead flies classics things with jungle cock etc. Flip the center leaf and its big orange green and purple things that are ugly and packed tight
-A flambuex blue ribbon box for nymphs and dries
-A bug luggage box for small streamers
-A cheap plano for beads, flesh flies, and globugs
-A box of various split shot and indicators
Still looking for a good way to hold big clousers and keep it portable last year I just used an 8 compartment plano.
I fish with at the very least my nymph and streamer box at all times, often I’ll carry all of them depending on the water I’m fishing and whats running.
orvis rods are the oppisite of smooth, a smooth rod is one that loads and unloads over the taper without much bounce.
try tying it upside down like a zonker, throw some lead eyes on the head and use chennile to make the head, also try raffia for fins.
