I am about to depart on 10 days of fishing bliss, I will be guiding on my favorite fly fishing festival, with 6 days of pre-festival scouting… however, juniors introduction into the house hold, he is now 16 months old, has seriously eaten into my fly tying time. So for the last 3 weeks I have been tying up a storm, over 400 flies… 25 per pattern, 1 hook box per sitting.

    Here are my questions.

C & F wading and Bugger Beasts for the boat.

Oh yeah…I second Lando’s suggestion on the Cliff Bugger Beast boxes for warmwater use.

    My Boxes

-A classy aluminum box with metal clips, you open it up and there are gorgeous steelhead flies classics things with jungle cock etc. Flip the center leaf and its big orange green and purple things that are ugly and packed tight

-A flambuex blue ribbon box for nymphs and dries

-A bug luggage box for small streamers

-A cheap plano for beads, flesh flies, and globugs

-A box of various split shot and indicators

Still looking for a good way to hold big clousers and keep it portable last year I just used an 8 compartment plano.

I fish with at the very least my nymph and streamer box at all times, often I’ll carry all of them depending on the water I’m fishing and whats running.

I love seeing inside other guys fly boxes, so I hope this thread picks up steam. When I get a chance I’ll take a pic of my boxes, but for now….

    1. I like the C&F little boxes, but not for catskill dries. Hackled flies fall into my compartment boxes.
    2. I carry my bugger barn, midge box, C&F box with few nymphs and random dries, then my two compartment boxes with caddis, stimmies, and catskill ties. If its summer, I bring the hopper box as well.
3.Answered that above for the most part. However I would like to switch my caddis and stimmies into one of those SA waterproof boxes.
    4. I like to wieght with a bead or conehead, I hate pinch on weight, hard to cast and always seems to slide up and down my leader.
    5. I have OCD, so I like to make rows of perfectly organized flies, its really a PITA.
    6. Nothing bigger than a 12 unless its a fat streamer
    7. Not yet.

Anyone have anything to say about the SA waterproof boxes? Will they fit Stimulators?
    thanks
    Doug

    Lando,

    You tie all those yourself?

Most. I don’t spin deer hair that well, so the turks and dave’s were purchased.

The zoo cougars and heavy metal sculpins as well.

    Maybe twins separated at birth.

Except for his freaky obsession with fiberglass fly rods,
