Cabelas has a few deals in their bargain cave. The PT has a 25 year unconditional warranty.

    😉

Save the difference for a new line or gas.

I am considering getting one myself as a backup.

I took a cabelas five weight on a trip and stepped on it while rushing to take a picture of the fish.

Didn’t LL Bean rods score highly in one of the magazine’s test for a “budget/backup” 5wt?

Throw an extra $65 dollars and get a Scott A2 series 5wt.

Do the parking lot test on orvis frequent flyer 7 pc..  If you can get any info on their warranty of this rod let me know..   The local orvis guy says theywill fix it for 50 bucks.  Thier web says no warranty..  It may not fit yor weight description, but a pretty nice rod, for that price range,

orvis rods are the oppisite of smooth, a smooth rod is one that loads and unloads over the taper without much bounce.

As for smoothness, hands down my Scott rods, V2 and A2 are great.
