Last two weeks are good middle two weeks are better and the first two weeks are good too… I take august off to fish, the whole mont is dang good.
if you want easy big stupid rainbows plus salmon I’d reccomend mid august, if you don’t really care about catching fish I’d reccomend september, unless you wanna wonder around a steelhead stream for a while or try to cautch bows that are so fat they won’t move more than an inch… If I were planning a trip to AK and I wanted the best fishing possible on a family trip I would come august 15-august 25 that timing allows you to base in Anchorage and have world class fishing.

The best part is that I have another solid 2 months of silver season, the dolly spawning run and duck hunting to look foward too this year, and hopefully I can put a deer in the freezer.
😉 The deer in PA have moved into my back yard and they love my garden. It’s like a salad bar to them. Even the fawns have learned to snack. S.D.
Sounds like the bears at the place I was last week, I counted 13 sitting at once…
So I’m out rockfishing (pictures to come) and getting into some nice black bass in about 40 feet of water and I have something BIG grab my fly.
