when I’m out duck hunting in december I wear wool socks long underwear, carharts then waders on the bottom then smartwool longunderwear top, a hooded sweatshirt, a flannel shirt, then my duck jacket… Keeps me warm sitting around all day… Oh and a nice hat is always good…
just recline the front seat and you can sleep in any parking lot you want especially if you can sleep on your back… Subies are nice
I have a switch rod (11.5 foot 7 wt) and barely use it, I’d much rather have a 15 foot 10 wt. for the big rivers up here, we’ll see how the rod budget holds up this winter
the 0 gravity 7wt was the worst 7 wt I’ve ever casted that cost more than $100 (the absolute worst being a $25 cabelas rod, but I guess that was 8 wt), the traveler rods have crazy bad tip bounce, and orvis makes watches for gods sake… The helios sounds like a decent sage or st croix but at double the price… Orvis does make some pretty decent reels, but they haven’t figured out the whole high end graphite rod thing yet, just the high end price.
Sounds like you are floating lake creek.. Shoot me a PM I’ll shoot you back some info… Anyway for lake creek after king season I’d take a 5 wt and a 7wt at a minimum… You don’t need more than a 7 weight but you want something bigger than a six if you plan on catching salmon at all.
