MemberGreat topic.
For me, the good old days were just a few years ago.

MemberI would not shoot in srgb. The color space is much smaller than adobe rgb. You are losing large amounts of color data. Shoot in adobe rgb preferably in RAW or RAW + JPEG and use convert to profile in PS after you have tweaked your images to get a srgb file in the size that you want.
I also shoot in Adobe RGB – as David says, the gamut is significantly larger, so you just have more colors.

MemberI have one, and I absolutely love it.

MemberIt’s always fun to spend other people’s money, but it’s more fun if we know the budget and what (generally) you’re looking to get.
How much do you anticipate getting from the Ins. Co.?
What’re you looking for in terms of reach?

MemberThere’s an old adage in the IT world about RAID:
“RAID 0, isn’t”
Raid can be a great option for added security if you do it right, but make sure you do your research.

MemberBrett,
You make a good point, and I think this will actually make state’s licenses more likely to succeed.

MemberThat headline is actually a bit misleading (NOAA’s, not yours Scott) since the Saltwater Angler Registry is already law, and it will begin 1/1/09.

MemberI like the way she is looking over the camera.

MemberZach, you make some good points there – print media in general is almost certainly going to continue to contract going forward, just as the pool of people with cameras capable of taking a publishable shot expands.

MemberZach,
You’ve mentioned the FF issue a few times here – what is it that has you holding out for FF?
matt boutet
MemberAlso… I have never had issue with my DSLR before.

MemberKevin,
I posted a pic or two in the other thread, but I didn’t see the question about flies- That’s an easy one though.

MemberI only have a couple that I can access here at work, but here’s what I came up with:

MemberIt’s nice to see what everyone else has going – seems like Pixelpost is a popular option.
My website is at http://www.mattboutet.com – It’s usually more saltwater than freshwater, but the stripers haven’t shown up yet, so I’ll be posting more sweetwater stuff for at least another week or two.

MemberMatt,
I don’t have that particular lens, but I do have the Sigma 10-20mm, and it’s a great fishing lens.
matt boutet
MemberIf you dont mind, could you link us to a photo of yours?

MemberThe painting with light idea is a good one – I’ve had decent luck with longer exposures and a small maglite – I’ve never tried a short exposure though.
Another thought – Why not get there earlier (if you’re getting up that early anyway, another hour isn’t going to make much of a difference) and set up someplace else for a few shots – that way you can add some more light to the mix without worrying about spooking birds.

MemberLee,
If you put it up on the web for anyone to view, then it’s downloadable.
