I think you’re right, the one I’m thinking of had cones instead of the fingers this one has.

On a somewhat related note- I took the elastic waistband from an old pair of Patagonia waders for my LL Bean stripping basket, and I often swing it around to my hip- the elastic belt makes it comfortable pretty much anywhere.

Drifter, I haven’t used one in the field, but I got to play with a couple at the PMA show a couple of weeks ago.

It’s been a busy show, so it wasn’t until this afternoon that I made it down to the Kodak booth to see their new printers.

Obviously, they’re printing stuff that makes their hardware look as good as possible, but the prints I saw were impressive.

I don’t really follow any of the rumor sites, so I don’t know what the consensus is but with PMA coming up in a couple of weeks it really can’t hurt to wait until after the show to see if there are any new products announced.

The Benro pods have a standard sized stud, so you can fit most any head on them.

The Nikkors are generally considered to be superior lenses, but you pay a premium for them.

I got the monopod and head today- 3 days after placing my order; not too bad for shipping from Hongkong.

The monopod is really quite nice.
