    I’ve used the healing brush and clone stamp to fix small flares before, but in the image below, it’s well beyond what could be fixed that way.

    It seems like there ought to be something I could do with a quickmask to select the flared area and some sort of selective color manipulation, but my photoshop-fu just isn’t up to the task.

    You might be able to apply some kind of gradient mask with a progressively bluer/greener levels slider as you go to the corner, but to be honest, well, you’re toast.

    Ah well, it was more of a learning exercise than a real need to fix that pic.

    Try the burn tool.
