It is a bargin, especially for light use or a backup, but see john or buzz’s comment (sorry I can’t remember who) under moosedog’s thread about not being able to hang big lenses off it. I think Joel just bought one. So he should chime in.
I would hold off on Canon DSLR right now until they announce (about March 8th) what new lines are coming out. Probably will not include a new consumer grade body, but there have been rumors. The price drop of another $100 on the street price may signal something too.
I don’t really follow any of the rumor sites, so I don’t know what the consensus is but with PMA coming up in a couple of weeks it really can’t hurt to wait until after the show to see if there are any new products announced.
Thanks for the feedback guys! I’m back in wait and see mode now. This is a purchase I just don’t want to rush into.

I just got this camera a few weeks ago and so far I really like it! I personally really like the size of it, but I don’t have big hands either which might make a difference. I got mine from beach camera and felt like I got really good service and a great price. I just got the camera body as well with a 70-300mm IS USM lens. I am now kind of kicking myself for not getting the kit lens as I have found out that I needed it more than I thought.
The camera is easy to use and I have been very happy with the picture quality considering I haven’t had a lot of great days yet to take pictures. As soon as the weather breaks here I plan on going out and going nuts with the thing. If I get any good pics I will surely post them here.
