A couple of my oldest fishing buds and I were lucky enough to all have our lovely brides out of town at the same time……I know, happens once in a lifetime maybe.
We packed a bunch of venison, vino and whiskey, ditched work (we are all old enough to pull that off these days) and spent a few nights on our favorite Missouri trout stream.
Stream levels and flow were good but the water was Gin clear and the fish were staying down and spooky with too many Herons around.
We didn’t have any fun at all….-

Mark SidesMemberI’ve been having a tough time getting images posted even after the tutorial offered by you and Tim.
Thought I might give it a try here…………..Okay, I clicked on image, copied the URL code from Flickr and pasted it in the box with the above results….am I missing a step?

Zach Matthews. Reason: Yes, but you need to post the link to the actual picture, which ends in .jpg. Click the image you want and go through flickr to the 'medium' file size, then right click that image and select the url to post here. Otherwise you did it correctly, Mark

Mark SidesMemberOut of all the law offices in which I have spent too many hours, that is, by far, the most “unique” looking secretary I have ever encountered…and better looking than a few of them as well.
With the above guidance offered and a little creative language I will see if I can’t dial in the photo posting. Zach and Tim, mucho gracias amigos.
Mark SidesMemberThe heavy rains nailed us as well.
Had to reschedule a Musky hunt in southern Missouri due to high water levels in lake Pomme De Terre. We have had two separate and major floods from the Missouri River wipe out hundreds over 660 acres of bean and corn planting and when the water recedes there is a layer of Asian carp in the 5 – 10lb. size range left covering the fields. Makes for a wonderful fertilizer but gawd’ the stench is horrendous.
Throughout the state the small spring creeks we fish were all way over the banks for long periods and just recently got “better”.
Mark SidesMemberA follow up with some instruction please.
I wanted to post reasonably full sized pics rather than the postage stamp sized attachments. Searched for the proverbial instruction page on posting photographs and was stumped.
Can someone steer me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance……

These are a few patterns I have developed improvising from other offerings. I use dumbell and beadchain to accommodate both depth and wind conditions.<br />
I have taken to almost exclusively using a crab pattern lately. If tied in the right size/pattern bonefish will almost always nail it and if a permit is spotted I am ready and don’t need to switch sticks.Attachments:
Mark SidesMemberEnrico has some really innovative concepts/patterns and his offerings have made a positive impact.
With that being said a lot of his patterns are dictated by employing the use of his material line and some can be a bit time consuming to create.
Please don’t misunderstand me, I have plenty of EP materials at my bench (they can get a little pricey) and have fished a variety of his patterns with good success.
I would advise you to “join in” on his membership offering, there is no real downside to gaining more insight into different techniques and finding what works for your skill level.
Just keep in mind this is just one offering out there and the internet is almost boundless in allowing you to find what you like as well as what works best for you.
Its a pretty rewarding feeling hooking up on a fly you tied.
Mark SidesMemberNo offense intended Peter, just an observation based on what I saw in the video. π
Mark SidesMemberWould very much like to see some photos of your NZ fishing grounds.
I have friends that have fished NZ and it’s on my bucket list…hope I make it ::).

Help me out with this one…
Mark SidesMemberHere are a couple more shots of big toothy lizards for offering, seems like the right post to offer them in.
We took a fishing adventure to the Amazon and ran into this species, the Cayman, patrolling our dock, seems the handouts were pretty good there from the various fishing parties coming in and out of camp.
That fish in his mouth is a Peacock Bass in excess of 15lbs. that we brought back after the Piranha got a hold of it. That beast was big, over a half ton and 14′ long. Later in the week two others showed up bigger than him.
The jealous threesome got into a brawl one evening and destroyed the bridge (2nd pic) leading from the walkway to the dock.
Fascinating place the Amazon river basin.
Cool thread for spooky critters Roy. π

Me thinks a little more research/homework may be in order on CF and his status in the fly fishing world. :-[ π
Mark SidesMemberthere’s more misconception and misunderstanding of rod action than there is of women. π
JCYou cannot be serious….or you found a stash of the good stuff in one of your old gear bags. π
Mark SidesMember10/0 is about right. I accidentally popped one goose hunting a couple years back.
It didn’t taste too bad, a lot like California Condor or Whooping Crane.
Mark SidesMemberI simply try to copy what I see while snorkeling or diving and I keep shrimp in my saltwater aquariums as well.
“Appendage” movement is important, certain tying materials will offer a more lifelike movement than others. For instance rubber legs are almost always a plus.

Mark SidesMemberSpyderco, if I am outside I have it on me.
Every time someone else uses it they are wowed by cutting edge, weight and strength. Only knife I would consider when I used to climb.
I paid $70 for it 6 years ago and I got the model with the hunter orange handle.
Never could figure out the sense in a camo or black handle, same with mini/small flashlights, damn hard to find if you drop it on a stream bank or from a tree stand.

Mark SidesMemberThere will always be a few self righteous grumps floating around, hell I’m guilty of it once in a while.
