    Hey guys,
I fish out of a 13 foot gheenoe and love going out for carp too. One question for you experts. Will trolling motors put carp down? I fish for them on a river usually by myself so a trolling motor is a lot more practical than a push pole for me.

Great interview Zach. Congrats on ten years of IA and the upcoming nuptials!

Really great review Zach. Thanks for the insight.

I was waiting to get an s4s whenever they introduce its replacement, but I may give this a serious look for a new bonefish rod. I have a 9wt s3s but want a 7 or 8 weight.

One of your best podcasts Zach. Great job.

    Zach,
This ones easy. Go with the 4 runner. I have a 99 tacoma that I bought used in 2001. I’ve never had to do much of anything to it. It’s rock solid and dependable. I’ll only buy another tacoma, tundra, or 4 runner.

Good luck with a new purchase.

Great info Zach. At some point ill score an s4s but I was going to wait until they close out. Guess I’ll have to wait a bit longer or just pull the trigger.

That’s interesting. That was really the only saltwater only fly fishing mag out there. Guess I shouldn’t expect a refund on my subscription, huh?

They just completely redid the look of that magazine.

Any word on whether Scott is going to replace the S4S with a saltwater Radian next year? That’s been the pattern hasn’t it?

Hey Zach, your build inspired me so I bought a Gheenoe earlier this summer. I’m going to put some fly rod tubes on it. I noticed on your build that you did one rod tube on each side. Do you wish you added more or would you keep it the same? It seems like adding four total (two on each side) is a little crowded on the noe but people do it. Any thoughts here?

Zach, when you were working with the glass, resin, and paint, did you where a respirator or any other special safety equipment?

One more quick question. How do the towee boats fit into this equation?

    Zach, CB,
That’s definitely good advice. Ill keep looking around a bit. All boats are a compromise as they say. Trouble is I want a Hells Bay on a kayak budget!

Zach, I’ve followed you rebuilding the Gheenoe on FB and now your new addition. First let me say you’ve done an amazing job. It was a lot of fun to follow along while you did this project.

My question is what size Gheenoe did you get?

Interesting about the “x”. Hadn’t thought of that.

I should have added antique Zach, you are right. I haven’t looked a lot on EBay, but I’m sure you could pick up some really cool old reels with a little patience.

Curtis, is that b/c of crowds? I was really leaning toward it as it’s supposed to be spectacular and I’m not sure when I’ll get out that way again.

Also, it would seem there is really no need for a guide there?

I would just use your Ross. On a 3 wt, your reel is just there to hold the line anyway.

If you’re looking for some bling, you could look for a hardy to go on it.

I like to fish with a yak. My advice would be to get a rod leash and holder. You don’t want to lose a fly rod and you’ll need a place to keep it when you paddle. I have a Scotty rod holder and like it.

    Good luck and have fun.
