Joel ThompsonMemberMy God that is a beast of a brown your wife caught! If my wife ever caught something like that I would never hear the end of it! All she would say about every fish you caught after that is “Oh that’s a cute little fish you have there!” Damn that is a nice brown!

Joel ThompsonMemberHere are a couple more photos from the trip. These were taken by my buddy Mark. I love this first one of this Brown Trout. The colors just seem to jump off the page at you!

The coolest thing about this photo is that you can see all of the baetis on the water. Happy times for sure!

The thing I like about this one is it shows you just how hard it was not to smile! God I love it when the fish are keyed in on dries!

Joel ThompsonMemberGreat post once again Mike. Thanks for taking the time the past couple of weeks two keep us informed. I totally agree with Rolf in that you should hit the Ruby next time.
Lando it is a buyers market right now in Bozo. Housing prices are down and offers BELOW asking price are being accepted. Now all someone has to do is put up with the Bobcats!

Joel ThompsonMemberThat is pretty cool stuff Mark! Are you able to make longer videos than 30 seconds? How much time did it take you to put the 30 second one together?
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberWelcome to the board Mike! There are a lot of great people here and I think you will find that even the toughest questions get real answers around here!
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberHmmm….what’s this “other” website you talk of Drifter? ::)
Joel ThompsonMemberMike that is an awesome video! Certainly makes me want to go!
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberAnother great post Mike! But damn those pancakes are making me hungry! I admire your dedication in keeping us up to date on the trip. It has been a morning ritual for the past two weeks to see what you’ve been up too. Can’t imagine the state of depression you will go through when you have to go back to reality!
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberWow that is quite a review! Probably written by someone who never sets foot in the great outdoors and spends all of his time playing mind numbing video games! I think I will choose to continue numbing my brain here! 🙂
Joel ThompsonMemberBrian this time of year in Montana I go with my Marmot silk long underwear and a pair of fleece pants. Very mobile and nice and toasty without the bulk. Make sure what ever you wear on your upper body is easily vented. This helps you regulate your body temp the best.
Good luck and I look forward to your posts from Colorado!

Joel ThompsonMemberDave that is one great fish! Nice work!
I have heard the moss is still bad in your neck of the woods. I am waiting for the moss free report so I can come over the mountain and chuck some big bugs at those fish.
I’ll be heading to the Big Horn a week from tomorrow and hopefully be catching a few bubbas myself!

Joel ThompsonMemberMike I love your dedication to your daily reports from Montana. Great photos and stories. I am a little curious about your wine choice though. Did you pick that wine because it is a good one or because of the name on the bottle?

Joel ThompsonMemberThanks for your insight Cam. Even though I am more famiular with the Olympus cameras I was leaning towards the W30 just because of where the lens is placed on the camera. I messed around with a friends Olympus and my figure was always getting in the way of the lens.
I take off for the Big Horn in a week and two days and would like to bite the bullet and get a camera before that trip. My point and shoot worked well enough last year, but I ended up missing a lot of photos because I didn’t want to get the camera wet. I don’t want that to happen this year!
Went up and winterized the cabin yesterday. Couple inches of snow up there and just flat out beautiful! It is always kind of depressing to take the boat out and button things up for the year. We still use the cabin in the winter it is just a lot more work. Oh, by the way your pictures are now part of the cabin and it’s history. You have your spot forever on the picture board!
Hippie this post with your pictures is making it easier for me to decide on the Pentax. Thank You!
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberLooked like a great day Hippie man! What is your new camera? Been thinking about one of those water proof ones my self but some of the reviews on those things have not been real good so I am a little spooked at making the leap.
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberDown low. About 5 miles or so from Drummond.
Send me a P.M. with your phone number so I can give you a call next week so we can chuck and duck.
Joel ThompsonMemberNot for about three weeks Clint. The last time I was up there it was super bony too. I just checked flows and they have not changed much.
Flint creek has been dynamite lately! Let’s try and get out next week. How does your schedule look?
Joel ThompsonMemberWhere will you be going Clint? I have been chucking streamers for the past 3 weeks and loving it!! Been tagging a lot of nice brown trout.
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberSeafood, there are still fish looking up in the chilly state of Montana. There are quite a few October caddis out still and blue wings out daily when the wind isn’t blowing to hard. I think the biggest reason we all start fishing streamers this time of year is because the fish hit them and hit them hard. But I am with you. I like to mix it up a little. Fishing streamers all day gives me streamer elbow! 🙂
Joel
Joel ThompsonMemberDefinitely watermasters. Made in Missoula Montana. 🙂
Joel ThompsonMemberMike I like the Hippie mans advice on Hoppers. Especially if you are fishing the Big Hole. It was shut completely down during prime hopper season so I don’t think these fish have seen hoppers thrown at them like they usaully do.
Bummer about your experience at the blue anchor Zach. Were you there this past Sunday?
