I think guiding is more of a passion and a way of life, and the making a living part is the smallest part. I would not recommend quitting a good job to anybody who thinks guiding is a dream job. I would recommend taking a family member or a friend who does not flyfish,

I don’t think there is a school that is going to qualify anybody to be a guide worldwide. Good luck though.

I have never seen a Law vise until now. I went to the site, and I like it. I never saw a price, and I was wondering if anybody knows how much they cost? I would also like to know if anybody carries them , or are they hard to get?

I got on the new Sony wagon. I started shooting with a buddy of mine , and he shoots Sony and I thought I might want to borrow lenses from him. ๐Ÿ˜‰
I am well satisfied , and I like the built in IS on the body. I found the 2.8 for 800.00 brand new.

I have watched a 12 year old boy that comes down to my local fly shop, tie on one, and it will blow your mind. I must say this kid is the best fly tier I have ever seen. I love the vise in action, I just didn’t feel like I could put it in action. I have seen a few older guys adopt the automatic bobbin. I still have not. :-/

I have cast the new Cortland rods, both the Brook Trout and the Big Sky, and I was impressed. I like the look of the rod, and the feel and action are amazing. Price is right too. ๐Ÿ˜‰

BTW, I also cast the Cortland Bigsky 10 ft. 4 and 5 wt. and they are very nice also.

I tried the NorVise out when I was in the market for a new vise. I think it is an incredible vise, well built, and well designed. I tried to convince myself that it was the one for me, and if you watch somebody who ties on one, it is the most incredible thing I have ever seen. I found the problem for me was , if you have been tying for many years on a standard type of vise, its like starting over. I just could not get used to it. I will definitely say that is a amazing piece of equipment.

We have the same problem with my twin boys. ;D I don’t think there is much of a solution for that problem. I always new to jump when POP said jump. ๐Ÿ˜€

I had a chance to fish the Helios 10 ft. 4 wt. today, and it is a very sweet rod. I have a hard time defining the best rod on the market today. :-/ I feel like with the advances that have been made in the entire industry, its hard to say. If you fish the top end rods from each company, they are all amazing. I guess one just chooses which company he will support. I guess that is why I never try to push a particular rod on anybody. I do love to discuss them all, thanks for the responses.

BTW, I am also a gear junkie. I love nice equipment.

I would have no problem shipping international, but I do not have the original tube. I do have it in a nice aluminum tube , and it is a 4 pc. rod.

I cast the rod today , and I was impressed. I am not a big fan of the Helios , but the 10 ft. rod I like pretty well.

I am going to cast this beauty this morning. I really wish they would have made this combo in the T3, for 2 reasons. #1 I think the T3 is the best rod Orvis ever made.

I think Mike Anderson has the Presentation 3 or 4000 , and he has been through 2 or 3 sets of jaws on it in less than a year. I am pretty sure that Renzetti replaced the jaws.
I have been tying on a traveler for 11 years with perfect service. I am going to upgrade as soon as I get home. I believe my local shop has my new one waiting on me.
