Morsie, I thought the interest in that shot was the fish and the double hander and wasn’t concerned with the horizon.
(or was falling over from old age ;D)

The top of the fish is flattened out to make it work as a possible cover..

This is my version with the tilt – a little wider and a bit sloppy..

You have to be careful with high rez cameras and lenses, any sensor over about 12 MP’s is going to start showing up average lenses.
A lot of lenses designed for film look a bit crap on digital.

Nikon make some great wide zooms, like the 14-24 and the 24-70 2,8’s, but their 70-200 VR is average and a lot of their primes like the 50 1.4 and 85 1.4 pretty shabby as well from my testing on a D3x.

Canons wide zooms are left wanting on high rez, but the L primes like the 24 1.4 II, 35 1.4, 50 1.2, 85 1.2 and 135 F2 are awesome.

Both companies are VERY busy designing new lenses for their higher and higher MP sensors.

With lenses, you get what you pay for to a point, though there are always some exceptions – do your research before spending to avoid disappointment .. πŸ˜‰

    Hi Henry and welcome..

There’s a few Flylife lurkers here – what stuff have you done for them ?

And yes, you need to go to UnZud, it’s VERY photogenic and the fishing is ok as well..

They seem to be having a few problems with French rugby players at the moment though.. ;D

Lauren, ‘Lake’ George is about 13 x 6 miles and was full about 8-10 years ago.

Even before the drought, it used to dry up every now & again seemingly without reason.

IMHO the problem with the net is the lack of accountability and morals amongst a lot of it’s users.
It also seems VERY strange to me that anonymous users are permitted and even encouraged.

I suspect if everyone had to use their real name and have a real address they would behave in a more normal fashion.

This forum is a good example – it’s far more civil then a lot of others.

I agree with Chad about the Canon / Nikon thing – they’re the yardstick.

Olympus, Sony and Pentax make some nice cameras as well, but don;t have the big range of stuff you might need if you really get into it.

The little Canon 500 (not sure of the name where you are – might be a Rebel?) is a great thing, and if you paired it up with a good zoom like the 17-85 IS it would be a good bit of kit for fishing stuff.

Here’s a good website for reviews.

Awesome shots everyone – you’re killing me here.. πŸ™‚

Morsie, the bike is done with a 2400WS pack on full whack through an 8 foot softbox.

I think that’s about the same power as 15 on camera flashes.. πŸ˜€

I like the look as well, but every pair of pants I’ve ever seen like these have only come in short lengths.
A lot of them are 32’s or 33’s at best on the inseam.

Will MK do a proper tall size, or like most people in the trade, assume that nobody over about 6’1 exists ??

The thing is that it will be a door stop in a couple years no matter how good it is now, that’s the pace of things.

So you really have to be spinning up the big invoices to justify the cost.

Needless to say I’ll wear a disguise if I get to ride in a “Paj”.  😎

    Morsie

I seem to remember a few 8 hour drives where you had NO problem being seen in the nice comfy Volvo.. ;D πŸ˜‰

I bet when we get out in the Pajero you complain more about the lack of heated seats than the lack of Landcruiser.. πŸ˜€

I have Sandisk and Lexar readers amongst others, and they’re both good. (CF)

Try to get one with firewire 800 for your pro – they’re very fast.
