Colin M.Memberhere is a merged panorama of several pictures of a sunset at taylor park, unfortunately i dont have a larger version because the original photos are on a dead harddrive, (i had every album from the 3 month trip backed up except for the one with these photos in it…talk about a bummer) but i think you get the idea…
without being there, it wouldnt matter what camera i was using…although for many applications, nothing less than a top notch dslr will do, however you can come up with some pretty amazing photos on “lesser” cameras if you are in the right place at the right time…plus if i drop mine or it goes swimming, no damage done…take your dslr for a swim and you’re gonna be pretty po’d…
Colin M.MemberLoomis — I have a GL3 6 wt that i love chucking streamers with, and for the price you cant beat it.
Colin M.MemberGotta agree especially when you get a bunch of birds in real close.

Colin M.MemberI have to agree, it seems like alot of these are looked down upon, i’ll post a couple amazing shots i’ve gotten with a stylus 730 (i think thats the number)
Colin M.MemberSweet dude….thats awesome..where are the photos of the browns??
Colin M.MemberI’ve been fishing a streamer pattern that i created similiar to that for about 5 years or so…i must agree keeping the head “loose” is the way to go, the deer hair gives it a neat action in the water, sort of suspending the fly slightly off the bottom (depending how much weightyou have built in it…)
Colin M.MemberWhen you are fishing dry flies sizes 20 to say 14 5x is good, bigger 4x…If you are fishing small nymphs i go based on water clarity, 5x if the water is crystal, 4x if its murky…. For fishing big hoppers or stonefly nymphs i fish with 2 and 3 x…. streamers are generally 2 to 0x …. occasionally 3x if im fishing small streamers (rarely)…..
If you are anticipating hard strikes or big fish, increase your tippet.
Colin M.Memberits also good as a precursor to epoxy, some materials “fan out” when you use epoxy on them, however if you build the head with loon first, then put epoxy over it, the problem is solved.
Colin M.MemberMake sure to let us know when and where the photos you took on the trip get posted…Sounds like you had a blast down there…I envy the warmth, although the northeast is finally starting to thaw out, I hope.
Colin M.MemberThe
Colin M.MemberKorker’s are pretty sweet, i have yet to try out the non-felt versions of any boots yet, I own a pair of simms ultralight and a pair of the korkers, i love the versatility of the soles, however they can come lose from time to time.

Colin M.Memberholy crap that was funny…i almost laughed out loud in class…that wouldnt have been too good…. 😀
Colin M.Memberlooking for anything specific with the landlock? a trophy fish? lots of background? or a clean shot of a typical specimen?
Colin M.MemberI should also note that when I have him with me, noone ever even thinks about crowding around me…sort of a bonus….
Colin M.MemberAwesome fishing partners…Here’s mine…as a rule he stays on the bank until I’m done fishing a stretch, then he gets to have at it after wards…
Here he is trying to tell me where to cast next…(he loses interest in the fish the moment they are landed)

I think he may have some serious identity issues… 😀

Colin M.Memberi think you guys are full of shhh
Colin M.MemberThe shot of the Mako….incredible….
Colin M.MemberMost memorable –> 1st ever bonefish…Walkwade…no guide…crab pattern, Chamber of Commerce bonefish
