MemberI’m heading down to the Lower Laguna Madre on the south Texas coast to hunt for the big trout that move in during the winter. I hope the weather cooperates!

John BennettMemberHavent seen soft water myself in a couple months and don’t expect to again until mid/late march when the spring runs start. Around here the rivers that are fishable in winter just arent very good for winter fishing. Small tribs, only a small stretch available from the mouths and really only over wintering Steel. Am considering renting an ice bungalow for a weekend of hardwater fishing this winter for Eyes and Pike.

MemberI have been slowly plugging away via kayak at the linesides in the local big impoundment. I had several good trips in November/early December. Mid-December I made a run to the Chesapeake and got some yak-access schoolies under the bridge in the dark. Then I reverted to stocked trout (god have mercy on me) for a couple trips, then got blanked last sunday on the lake. Fishing without instruments is getting sketchy there. I can’t really measure up to the photo quality standards on this site, but here is a 7-8 lb fish from November 30.

MemberThe weather here has either left the water high or low and frozen. Ia am begining to go through withdraw. It has been three weeks since I have been on the water, normally I dont go a week without. I have just resorted to tying like my life depended on it. What is funny is that instead of tying nymphs and streamers which I should be fishing now I have been tying parachute dries. Go figure. 🙂

Joel ThompsonMemberWent ice fishing on New Years day up at our cabin and did quite well but every time I set my beer down to get a picture it would freeze so I gave up on trying to get a good picture.
Nice bonefish Gregg and I like the shot with the rainbow in it too!
Carter them are some nice looking red fish! By the way…how are your waders working out? 😉
