MemberI just got back from an week long snowboarding trip. Snow sucked, but gave me time to land a few of these from the Eagle River near Vail, CO:

Definitely colder fishing than I’m used to in Texas.

Either that is a big ass reel, or a tiny fish. 😉
Either way, cool shot.

Here’s a shot of #1 son on a small stream the other day.

And on a nice pool –

He’s really digging fly fishing at the moment and can’t wait to get on the water again.

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

Joel ThompsonMemberLando what the hell did you do to those fish to make them bleed like that?
Gotta love that flash freeze for locking in the freshness!

MemberBeuatiful pics Morsie and David. I am still drooling. Man the scenery is stunning! And the fish aren’t bad either 😀
Please post more pics from down under!
The trout fishing here in Central Texas is in prime season and the weather has been beautiful, but no pics or fishing for me for two more weeks at least. I’m a little over one week in on my recovery from gall bladder removal surgery. No sports, fishing, or heavy lifting :P.

MemberThanks guys, happy to try and brighten up your winter. When I was in Idaho last year the guys were telling me that where we were standing at that time would be 20 feet under snow in winter and that this huge lake we were near – Cascade I think it was – would be frozen solid. I found that really hard to comprehend.
Dave its great to see Ed taking to fishing……
I didn’t spend a lot of time with Simon in NZed, he had to look after his lad, we had some rain, we only got a couple of days on the water and only one good day. Those first images in that last thread are all Simon but as he’s so good looking here he is again in full front on mode. The scar around the vent of that rainbow is apparently from eels sucking the eggs out of them while they’re on the redds……. don’t even think about what that must be like.

Here’s another from a great angle. Simon had gone north to fish for kingfish at this stage – however he did leave us some directions and phone numbers……..

A small local pastoral stream that teemed with very difficult fish.

Joel ThompsonMemberMorsie your pictures are worth a thousand words to me! I love the angles you come at your subjects with the camera. And I also love the fact that the people (including yourself) are smiling! Good stuff!
Keeping coming Morsie. We had rain on top of about 3 feet of snow today and my road could now double as a bobsled run! So it looks like I will be spending a few days at home until it is more safe for travel. :-/
