Roy ConleyMemberChota Has some, but they are much heavier than my Simms Freestone boots with the vibram soles. Which model of Simms were you looking at? BTW, I have been wearing the new Simms for over a month and I believe they are better than felt, overall.

Mark SchaferMemberMore bang for the buck with Korkers. Chota has had some quality issues in the past but there paddling

MemberHas anyone had any experience wearing them outside the waters and banks?
My fishing consists of walking the road/path many times and I am afraid I will wear them out before the uppers wear out.Mar 9, 2009 at 3:23 am #34088

My fishing consists of walking the road/path many times and I am afraid I will wear them out before the uppers wear out.I e-mailed Simms about the life of the sole and their response was that the Vibram soles were expected to outlast felt 6 to 1.

MemberI LOVE my new Korkers! Best wading boots I have sampled or owned.

MemberKorkers are pretty darn good. If I am hiking in, I have those soles on, and switch them out to whatever I want for wading. Drawback – I did lose one sole when it was suctioned off by mud. I never even knew it was gone until I was back at the truck, taking them off. They were the new version too! Shannon

MemberI am on my second pair of Korkers, and having the same problem with these. I had to send the first pair back because they drew up and were too small after about 10 trips . I am noticing my new pair doing the same thing.
Anybody have any ideas?Mar 10, 2009 at 6:24 pm #34094
Eric WellerMemberAs for the boots being too small, I order a size and a 1/2 larger than what I wear for a normal shoe.

Colin M.MemberKorker’s are pretty sweet, i have yet to try out the non-felt versions of any boots yet, I own a pair of simms ultralight and a pair of the korkers, i love the versatility of the soles, however they can come lose from time to time.

MemberAs for the boots being too small, I order a size and a 1/2 larger than what I wear for a normal shoe. I wear a 9 1/2 to a 10 in street shoes and but 11’s for wading boots. I’m going to research the korkers more along with the cloudveil. Also the Simms will be re-evaluated. Thanks guys, tough decision when buying new boots. I’ll be trying them out in Montana in October, just bought killer airfare from Akron to Bozeman, $206.00 round trip. 🙂 Unbelieveable price!
I agree on buying larger, I wear a 13 in a street shoe, so I buy a 14 in wading boots. I had worn the first pair about 10 times, and they drew up to about a 12. I think it’s the material this boot is made of, and I have tried several different methods of drying them. I have purchased a pair of stretchers, which I will put in the boots when I take them off, and let them dry with them inside and see if that helps.
