MemberI don’t remember – are you taking the Tennessee bar or the Georgia bar?

MemberWhen I lived out in Jackson, from 2000-2004, most of the people out there speculated that at some point the park, before they knew it would be bad, actually may have introduced this fish to the lake about 40-50 years ago.
Well, it sounds like the new scientific analysis of the otoliths disproves that theory pretty strongly.

MemberThat is an awesome shot of the little hand on the rod!
Somebody should do a product review with that picture – “These new rods from Brand X are great, but the handles are just too darn big.”

MemberI have been told some has moved lake trout into the Watagua tailwater. TVA and TWRA are very mad and working to remove them as fast as possible.
Hmm.

MemberMy “long hair” in law school was nothing – it was down to the middle of my back at one point during my undergrad days.

MemberOn the plus side, you do get shown some neat stuff they won’t show the locals because it’s illegal to purchase, like anaconda skins and monkey heads. Naturally, don’t buy!
It’s a good thing I haven’t gone there.

MemberI’ve had reels in carry-on luggage before and I’ve never had a problem.

MemberI wouldn’t buy a flyrod on the basis of it, but I’m going to cast a vote in favor of more bikini ads. Regardless of what they’re selling.

MemberIf I’m just going to replace them when the soles wear out, I lean toward buying cheap boots. You can get a decent “brand x” pair at the big box stores for about $40-50, which isn’t much different than the cost of the re-sole job Zach was talking about. In the case of the boots I’m talking about, a sole fell off, but it was getting awfully thin anyway, so even if it had stayed on I’d be looking at a replacement soon.
If I were to spend the $100+ for the Simms boots, re-soling looks like a much more attractive option. I can’t imagine that felt wears down any slower on the more expensive boots.

MemberIn my time down there, I learned that if you home in on the passes while the tide is changing, it’s hard to go wrong this time of year.

MemberAnd I thought the notch’s in your reel had meaning.
They do.

MemberI wonder if the bleach had a negative effect on the glue BD?
I don’t think so.

MemberI am pretty much coming to the conclusion that I fall down in rocks too much to own a reel with low dent tolerance. Sorry, but I’m not one of those guys who will break his fall with body parts to protect gear – if a rod or reel has to land between me and a rock, well, that’s why I pay extra for the lifetime warranties.
I need something where I can knock a notch into the metal and have it still survive.

MemberI have had awesome days fishing hoppers on beaver ponds and small spring creeks – anywhere with tall grass growing along the bank.

MemberWelcome to the board.
I fished for bonefish a couple years ago in Hawaii with a guide named Ollie Owens – is he still guiding down there?
