Take the sample tests in the back of the BarBri book.

Iodine makes the gin and tonics taste funny.

    Zack,

Should you not be getting to know a female real well at this time?
You know her name: BarBri.  Hangs around guys and girls just out of law school.

I met my wife in BarBri.

Hey Cameron, what kind of reel is that?

Standing on top of the console you can literally put a fly in ones face from 60 yards away.

There you go with that feet/yards thing again.

Did BD’s hair get, uh, darker?  *G*

    I’m not sure I understand.

bd, I just switched to a wirless config myself and maybe it does have something to do with t?

That’s what I’m going to blame it on until someone tells me otherwise.

Hey Zach, would there be any trademark/copyright issues if I were to use that Oscar the Grouch Trashcan Hat picture?

That happens to me occasionally, too.

Go ahead and drink the beers, and THEN go apply for your registration.

in reply to: busted shoulder #11925

Is chasing drunks a new sport I haven’t heard of yet. Sounds dangerous.

It’s similar to chasing people with expired registrations, give or take a few beers.

    (Sorry guys; inside joke).

Is the gheenoe made of fiberglass too?

RC tears seem to vary a lot in painfulness, depending on the individual – some folks say they don’t hurt much at all unless they move their arm wrong (usually moving it away from the body or above chest level).  Others find it extremely painful all the time.

The best I can tell you is to hope you have a very good surgeon, and do your post-surgery physical therapy religiously.  Don’t do more than they tell you, but don’t skimp on anything they tell you to do, either.

If you’re like most people, your pain will be vastly improved after you recover from surgery, but you may have some residual loss of range of motion.

Of course, when I talk to casting instructors, they’re always telling me to keep my arm down and tight to my body, which is probably what you’ll need to do for your shoulder.  Maybe in the long run, this whole experience will make you a better caster.   🙂

    Oh, okay.

in reply to: Line/Rod matchup #11897

I won the line for free in a drawing, so I would feel like it would be impolite to take it back like I expected to get something else.  It’s a nice line; it’s not the shop’s fault I don’t have a 7wt.

in reply to: Line/Rod matchup #11895

Do you have a six weight?

Nope, next lightest rod is a 5wt.  I guess I’ve never had much use for a 6wt with the fishing I do – nothing the 5wt couldn’t cover just fine, anyway.

I’m sure the 7wt TT would be a little heavy for the 5wt.

I’ll give the line a throw on the 8wt, just to see how it feels.  But I’m thinking you’ll probably be right – if anything, I think I tend to like the feel of a heavy line for the rod.

    I’m seriously considering it.

in reply to: Reddington SVII reels #11876

Also, like Zach said, if you’re doing a lot of big fish stuff invest in the best reel you can it will save a lot of grief.

Not a lot of big fish stuff – I’m mainly just looking for a trout reel for a 5wt.  I’ve been fortunate enough to hit a few big trout each year with the 5, and maybe a carp or a good-sized smallie here and there, but for the most part it’s just average trout fishing with a little bit of warmwater every once in a while.

That’s why I’m sticking at the $100 price range – I want a decent quality reel, but it’s not like the drag is going to see regular action.  To be blunt, it’s highway robbery if I have to pay $250.00 or more just to get a trout reel that won’t rust and fall to pieces if I get it wet.  If I weren’t looking at fly fishing gear, I could get a $25.00 Quantum at Wal-Mart that would hold up better than that.

If I wanted to loose weight I would join a fitness club. bd and MikeA, no rude comments from you two.   😛

Some people just don’t appreciate a good canoe trip.

in reply to: Reddington SVII reels #11866

I’m definitely looking for a “use and put away” reel – I’m not into fishing all day and then cleaning my gear all night.

Looks like the BBS is about 3 ounces lighter – though it has the disadvantage of not being a large arbor reel.  Also about $30 more expensive.

Hmm.  If the Redington is maintenance intensive, that may make the decision for me – though I’d really prefer a large arbor reel.

The Ross Evo is not in consideration because I’m not willing to spend $300 on a trout reel.
