BC is pretty huge with a ton of different fly fishing possibilities from salt to stillwater to creek.

Ty Chad- hell of a point:)) We do have accumulating Couger reports in the area. No one is sure if it is simply more folks out there looking/range expansion or short term cyclic favourable conditions.
Being in all honesty a naive and hapless unarmed soul- I think I would prefer dying in the throws of passionate love making than being consumed by a large mammal with a Richard Attenborough narrative running through my head:)))

I think to some extent it is important to realize that there a couple of issues. One the safety and utility of the sole material and the second the transfer of foreign biota from one watershed to another.
The manufacturers have offered up some alternatives to felt but that doesn’t totally address the biota transfer issue.
I collect aquatic macro invertbrates in a number of watersheds and under my collection permit stipulations is a set of “cleaning” protocols that have to be satisfied before I can use traps/collection systems between watersheds. I observe them and they are quite rigerous,but I can’t imagine the average angler

I may go back in with a blind and see what else comes in on the carcass even if the Coyotes are done – I imagine that amount of food would attract a number of critters.

Wow – thanks for all the pointers and thoughts. I’m beginning to develop a deep appreciation of what hunters go through.
Lots of what you are saying makes sense and I will have investigate some of the legal issues raised.
