My Patagonia water masters arrived last night. Very comfortable. Looking forward to the being able to write your name in the snow feature.

I picked up the nano puff pants to wear underneath. Most comfortable things I’ve ever worn. On sale now on their site if you are XL or XXL at $80

their nano puff jacket is the best thing since the fly rod.

backing to line 0wt-5wt double or triple sugeons loop, 6wt and bigger is a bimmini
then i make loops out of my fly line with 12lb mono nail knots (the actual loop is the fly line, i don’t like mono loops)
and pretty much loop to loop connections everywhere.
leader to tippet- blood knot every time
tippet to fly-clinch or improved clinch, never failed me (knock on wood)

The system has worked very good for me and i have been pleased with it. It should also be noted that whenever i make nail knots (bimmini, fly line loop) i seal it with either zap a gap or knotsense, but usually knot sense. i keep all my reels rigged this way. i like having the bimini or surgeons loop to easily change flylines (to cheap to buy spools….)

woah, thanks a lot for that reply. I always figured you needed to have 10+seconds to get a good blur. But those shots were stunning! I got an ND8 a while back and it has fascinated me to no end with what i can do with it 🙂

That was a cool trip!  You’re ballsier than I would be letting someone tow my rig with my rod still in the holder. 🙂

    Zach

ha yeah, i really regretted at halfway through the ride, When it came to me I had a 8wt in the holder, full gear bag with flyboxes wading jacket wallet and phone which was UNZIPPED!!!! and a dslr and WA lens in a waterproof pack behind the seat. Then the boat hit a turn and slowed down and the kayak slid off the wake and nearly flipped. the bag opened and nearly emptied all the contents in the water. The closest call i have ever been to flipping (knock on wood)

Bighorn trout see those articulated, big nastees every day, several times a day.

and bighorn trout see a grey ray charles with an orange thread head about ten thousand times a day!!!!!!

pretty much what other people have mentioned work good. zonkers work great. and sex dungeons.

haha, exactly, no kidding.  ray charles  i caught three ray charles there last summer on streamers.  snagged some weeds and fished out three ray charles!

    ahhaha
