  • Now that’s a great idea David.

I’m always concerned that I might not have the best equipment until I look at some work from 50 years ago. Clearly I’m way ahead of what those guys had, equipment wise. Then I’m reminded that it isn’t necessarily equipment that makes a jaw drooping photograph.

I’ve been a Nat Geo fan since I was in the first grade. To get the cover would be equal to climbing Everest for me. Big thumbs up.
Zach the talent this board attracts never ceases to amaze me. Good job man, and Thanks!

    What are the odds?
Just the other day a fellow called me about booking a fishing trip. Said he was in sales and marketing for Sony. I asked what division,,,

Very interesting Neal thanks for taking the time to explain. The lens is a Carl Zeiss 16-80 and yes it has 7 aperture blades. It’s been my favorite walk around lens so I do use it more then most of my other lenses. Now I’m curious to see what the 70-400 g reflection looks like.

The money you save you can buy some Zeiss glass. I’d miss the crop factor most so I’ll most likely keep my A700 too.

John those were taken in the central region of the Plateau, Stone Door area. The falls are Greeter Falls. It’s middle TN’s little gem and doesn’t get just a whole lot of visitors. There are some awesome trails around the rim.

Finally got CS4 with the Sony Raw converter. Wow! 😀 GD filter, crop, straighten, spot remover, and so on and so on, all on a RAW file. I had no idea. Very cool!!!

Thanks for the great feedback as usual John!

Neal you’re a good photographer. If you haven’t found a keeper yet perhaps you are being too critical of your work.

I was looking at the Cokin filter system. Ever hear much about them?

Thanks for the tips John. I guess I’m lazy or just don’t have time to sit at a PC and adjust every image so my PS skilz are limited, but I’m starting to pick it up a little. I really try to get the image right in the camera and prefer to do nothing or only simple changes post.

Have you ever tried the GD filters? I can see where they would be pretty neat if they aren’t a big pain in the butt. Seems like they are cheap enough…

I agree about CS Zach! I’m always relieved to hear an American accent when I have to call…

Those collars do work great. I started my Lab out on one when he was about 8 months. I kept it on 2 and only had to go to 4 one time. He would see our neighbor’s dog and nothing would stop him from running away with that dog. The fourth setting did an outstanding job of stopping him. I haven’t had to use it in over a year now and he stays in the yard when we let him out. The collar helped but he is a Lab so I swear he just understands what I’m saying.

Now that I think of it one of the prongs on my charger is broken I need to call them and get it replaced.

Hey Keith I was using a paint brush stick not a cotton swap. I found another way to do this btw. I bought some clear glitter glue from wal mart and made the body from that.

I have had the largest Simms for two years now. I still love it.

That and the Dupree spoon was the only fly we used. They did seem to work well on the Reds.

Those short fly rods are really gaining a lot of popularity. I bought one of the Redington Predator rods in a 10wt for Striper, dock light, and mangrove, fishing…
