My only suggestion would be to swap out the OSB for exterior grade plywood. OSB is particularly susceptible to moisture. Better yet…. some 1/2 inch Nida-Core would be my first choice if you can find it locally. It also wouldn’t hurt to coat the 2x4s with epoxy to prevent moisture penetration.

I’m in the same boat as you Josh. I downloaded the trial version of Elements 7 this past weekend and played with it. Unless I’m missing something….it will do everything I need. It is also on sale for the next few weeks at $59.

Pay attention to runoff. The month of June might not be the best depending on the weather and snowpack and where you end up……streams might still be stained.

It’s been a while since I’ve used the West System but I seem to remember that the epoxy will leave a greasy film once it cures. If adding a second coat I think you are supposed to “wash” the greasy film off with an ammonia and water solution.

Take this with a grain of salt…as I’m way behind the curve compared to most of the folks here.
#1 I agree with Dusty…..the beads in the foreground are distracting. Maybe remove them and leave the ones in the background although they tend to catch my attention as well.
#2 Major style points for presentation with the recipe to the left! I like it.
#3 I like the fact that you have multiple flies in the photo.
I like the piece-o-carpet idea.
Shane….I re-read my post and don’t want it to come across as being harsh. You ask an excellent question….one that many folks don’t think about until they are about to jump in the boat / plane. I learned about the floatplane scenario when I booked a flyout in AK a few years ago. The outfitter sent me an email “checklist” with the studded boot disclaimer attached.

As the owner of a wooden driftboat….studded boots are absolutely verbotten. I would not want studded boots in a fiberglass boat either. Guides are very particular about their gear….for good reason….. It’s how they make their living.
Let me throw another scenario out…..don’t even think about getting near a DeHavilland Beaver or any floatplane for that matter…..with studded boots on. The pilot/owner will have a stroke.
To answer your question….yes….I’d suggest getting a pair of non-studded boots.
