Seems overkill to me to spend that much on a 3-4 weight reel unless you are going classic and paying top dollar for a nice vintage piece of equipment like a hardy.
I fish at night all the time here in MI, but we aren’t talkin tailwaters so temperature changes and season have a huge impact on night fishing.
What shop?
My friend worked for Hanks in MI and they had one. Mine is a 8’4″ 5 weight 5 pc. I love it although I currently have a rio gold line on it and it is a little overloaded with that line. I need to go back to a cortland peach line to make it perfect.
I think it is still up for debate. What is the best way to do this? 🙁 I am in an awkward position because I have a newborn on the way and don’t want to make any promises I can’t keep so I would just assume say I will likely be up there whatever date you all choose if at all possible. I was just trying to throw out a date and place to help settle it. If that date/place doesn’t work for everybody lets switch it up. I am always a little leary of stumping around on opening day in MI. I know some of the idiots out there personally and don’t trust them to know me from a deer. Somebody gets taken out every year it seems. Not to say everybody that hunts deer is irresponsible, only takes one idiot to shoot my eye out.
Here is the deal. Baldwin Creek Lodge $49 a night for a double with 2 beds,TV, Bathroom etc. $39 for a single room..
