MemberJuly in Michigan is primetime for night fishing for LARGE browns. I would contact Hawkins and try and arrange a float on the upper manistee and make sure you are out after dark for a good part of the float.

MemberTim, I was thinking that the studs are probably over the top for the majority of my fishing being in MI but the comments about the life of the sole being improved with studs makes me wonder if I should go with them. I guess I will try without and add them if needed. My main concern was how long the vibram soles last, it sounds like they last a fair amount of time with the studs in (though I might not need studs).

MemberI like this line in the description…
The Hardy Zane titanium must be the ultimate saltwater reel on the planet.
It MUST be… Right? Because it’s $8,000? The opposite of trout bum, this reel costs 7 times what the car I have been driving for the past 4 years cost me to purchase. That is awesome, Hardy is smart, they have sold 70 of those at profit of about $7,800 each which equals $546,000. Ross would probably have to sell about 5,000 of their current top of the line reels to pull that kind of coin.
I am sure I am way off with the profit margins but man, $8,000?
