spencer ballard
MemberI have two suggestions, I did this search myself and found the Redington CT 2/3 click and pawl is an a great reel at a great price (no longer made).

MemberThe Scott F is not as slow as you might think, I can actually haul the line with this rod and snap the line out there when the wind picks up.

MemberCameron, I thought you might chime in with the Scott F 703 recommendation.

MemberI am not sure of your circumstances, a great deal on a 1 weight or just looking for a second rod…

MemberFunny,
I have the same rod it is a nice rod (the A2 8.5 #5) The reason I asked is that I was fishing with a guy named Brian who has a Sage Fli and the same line you do. He had the same problem with his line, I cut it off before he broke it off on a fish and tied in a loop connector with mono. I thought you were him for a minute there. Glad to see you on this forum amyways.

MemberSeems kind of strange to pay for a mount of a fish that you found half dead in the river to me.

MemberIt looks like he is throwing that thing in a frying pan, he is in a commercial kitchen in this shot I take it.

MemberCongrats, my advice, sell a couple of the similiar “not it” rods on ebay.
spencer ballard
Member$350 is average price used according to Ebay sales.

MemberI also think that short rods keep a lower profile on smaller waters where stealth is important and high stick nymphing wouldn’t be compromised when you are only casting 10′ and less.

MemberI think the rule is under 8 feet, and the sage I believe is 7’11” to accomodate that rule.

MemberTry wearing headphones with nature sounds turned way up to drown out the sound of the click.

MemberThere’s no disputing about taste?
I like that one.
