“The dogwoods start to bloom”
That’s the indicator we use around here. I fish one creek in particular off one of the Hooch lakes that has a good run.
I want to chase them as well this winter. I’ve only hit lakes like Lake Martin, Logan Martin, Smith Lake here in the Alabam a few years back. I have heard good things around Franklin, GA, but who knows.
I see a few exploratory shoal bass trips in my winter plans. I want to track the down here on the Georgia-Alabama border.
Have not stayed here, but heard it was a good place and fits what you are looking for:
The 590LL is probably the *least* valuable in the LL lineup, however, since those particular collectors tend to focus on smaller sizes. A lot of people still love that rod, though; I’d guess it would go from $250-$400 in used condition.

Yeah, that’s what i was thinking. I remember they said not to weight it and we used dry fly hackle for the body. I guess I could just wrap the body in wire and use a different hackle.

That’s a river boat. Very nice. Been thinking about getting something this year I could take on the river and the lake I may be living on soon. Looks like a badarse sled. Congrats man.
