You definitely add weight with wheels (more than you think).
If you are going to go the duffle route, you can’t beat a North Face basecamp duffle. They are expensive, but they will last forever and the airlines baggage conveyor belts will explode before they eat those suckers. The extra large can hold from 75-100 pounds of clothing and gear. The built in backpack straps make it easy to carry. You’ll have to be careful loading it because you will easily break the airlines weight restriction.As an aside, keep in mind that there are a few airlines that are starting to charge $15 just to check your first bag. Overweight bags will set you back another $50-75. Some airlines are instituting size restrictions on bags too not just weight.

The canoe shot looks much better. There isn’t that sense of vertigo in it. They angles of the terrain made the slant look much worse than it was.
The guide boat crop is nice. You might want to e-mail it to the fisherman in the boat. That is a rough looking backcast! 🙂
If you have a Mac DoubleTake does a nice job($25). If your looking for other editing features Photoshop Elements is probably the way to go.

Zach…I agree with your posts to this thread. Simms is just opening them selves up to new markets. My only thing with Simms is that it would have been proper for them to at least call or return an email. I was directly contacting the person that makes these decisions. The funny thing about asking for these gear sponsorships is that the companies with “non-fly fishing” gear we’ve asked have jumped at the chance to be included. I guess they would like to grow their market as well into new areas.
It could have been timing too.
Well, My bigger tripod wouldn’t work too well. I’m not sure of the dimensions but I would say folded it is a tad bit over 15 inches. I can do the measurements tonight and post back. The smaller tripod looked like it would work okay.

Lens in fly box pocket. Note that there is a drain gasket in the bottom of this pocket so it is definitely not waterproof. None of the pockets are.
I really should have thrown some rulers in there for scale sorry. I’ll get some measurements tonight.

Hey Guys,
The Rapid River is a great vest. I’m not sure a tripod would fit in the back compartment. I’ll check it out tonight and post back. It is made for a hydration bladder but it does have a zipper that allows it to expand.
A lens would fit in the front pockets. I think the inside large pockets are mesh on the backside. I’ll have to check that out to verify. I’ll post some pics too.
The vest has a suspension system like a backpack. You hardly notice the weight you are carrying.
They stand behind the 100% guarantee for sure.
