Neil, as you know, I am still learning this thing, and thus, please explain what the difference is when you rate a lens with a lower f-stop?
Two lenses, 20 – 100mm, one to an f2.2 and the other to f4.5. Why is the 2.2 better? Under what circumstances do you shoot at 2.2??? Not opening the aperture to get better DoF???
I am also trying to understand this “prime lens” thing???

No okra in South Africa! Mike, you’ve missed out on one of the finest dining experiences a man could ever have! There’s nothing like fresh picked okra, battered in corn meal, and fried until golden brown. It makes me hungry just thinking about it!

Mince Balls – took me a while, but hell I LOL’ed really LOL’ed…
no, there is no animal called a Mince, nor do we eat it’s balls, no they are not hard to catch… LOL. Mince up some meat, add some fat, preferably pork fat, add spices, garlic, pesto, chopped tomato, some olive-oil and breadcrumb. Work the mixture till it is nice and firm, make them into balls, and cook… bake, fry, roast, or cover them in a nice thick batter (a liquid mixture of flour, milk, and eggs used in making cakes, pancakes, and puddings, and for coating foods before frying) and deep fry them…By the way, I wouldn’t swap a single ZAxis for a handful of XP’s…………

Mono, yes… half life of a couple of hundred years and is badly affected by UV and other light, sunlight being the worst…
Bit of useless info, beer is also badly affected by UV and florescent light… you make up your mind on when, where and how to drink it…

Nicely said Jay, I too do not like targeting spawning fish, since many of our indigenous species are so endangered that it is sacrilege.
I have also of South African guides / writers who have gone out to known spawning beds to catch a cover photo, not on.
I have a little live by saying, and I say it every time I am on the water… it not about the fish, it’s about the fishing…
I have limited experience with fishing in the freezing cold, but when I have, I have used the Orvis gloves, but recently upgraded to the Simms ones, they are great, but I learnt a few things.
Put an elastic on each one, attach the elastic to your elbow, then when you need to get your hands all wet, pull the glove off with your teeth, the glove springs up to your elbow, do what you have too. I have a golf towel in my vest; I dry my hands and pull my nice warm, DRY gloves back on. Try it, it works a charm…
Wear the quick dry, sun gloves under your warm gloves, this wicks the excess water straight out…
Carry 2 or 3 pairs, try to get gloves that can be worn on either hand, thus you can change them quickly, just stick your hand in your pack and pull any one of them out.

Anyone have any experience with the Snowbee Waldron?? Yes, I know, at sub 2K it’s not a bank-breaker, and you get what you pay for usually.
I like (from pics) the fact that you can adjust the “arms” to accommodate really big hands, or just to “flatten” out the whole vise, but still keep the correct plane for when you user the rotary function.
You certainly won’t get ripped from here. I’d love to see one of those in the flesh. If it’s enough vise for Ron Eagle Elk, it’s got to be something.
Me, I’m just becoming a vise collector now, apparently. I took my Dyna King on vacation last week, and while it was a great thing to have, I need something that packs smaller. So today I was at Little River Outfitters, and they happen to have a C-clamp HMH Spartan marked with a price from a couple years ago….

My wife, who can’t work out how to use bullets in MS Word, is a PS pro now.
She got a tutor, yip, someone came round to your house once a week for 10 weeks, he is going to be coming back this year, for a follow up.
She also did a PS course at a local collage, but that help sweet fanny adams… $500 for absolutely nothing, the tutor was about $15 a session, with a minimum of 10 lessons.
The tutor, was a youngster, who did PS at university, and was working in a design house, trying to get some work experience, but needed the extra cash… I am sure you can find one near you…
