You’re right, but they are not a pettern we seldom ty and fish, I think because the spend so long away from the river between hatching and laying…

But now we’re getting way off topic… getting back to it…
I tried to figure out what nymphing means to me and it is quite simple…
When I catch a fish with a nymph, either a Mayfly or Caddis imitation, fished dead drifted, or with minimal controlled movement, using two main rigs. In deeper water, usually with a weighted dropper and an un-weighted point combo, called “New Zealand Rig” or “Truck & Trailer”, or in thinner water I fish it by itself, both methods normally involve an indicator and/or shit splot…Here are the methods I fish that involve a nymph, but I call something else…
-Czech-nymphing
-Dry and Dropper
-Hopper, copper, dropper
-Static nymphing
-Un-weighted / emerger fishingSorry that’s just me…

This thread is getting seriously interesting… I can’t say I have much to add, I fish nymphs when they aren’t taking the dry, emergers when they boil and terrestrials when the wind blows…

If I could have only one lens for family and general use, I would get the 18-200 without a second thought.
Yip, I bought a 55-200 due to costs, and regret it to the extent that I will be buying a 18-200 before my next fishing trip…

Thanks Neal, got 6 sheets of foam for the same price as one small pack from the fly shop… found a whole bunch of other stuff too… feathers, glass beads, scissors, fabric punch, threads, etc…
My best find was holographic mirror paper, mmmmmmmmm………………. can’t wait to give it a bash….
Craft shop, great, there is one close to me; I will give them a bash. I currently get it from the fly shops, its great stuff, but the pieces are small and it gets a little pricey…
I love the fly, I got a feeling I will be tying a few bullet shaped ones, for some Largemouth Yellowfish… going to be fun…

I quite like WavePad, it compiles while you are editing and splicing, it seems to mix well and when I am done, I save them as mp3, at a continues bit rate of 96, which are giving me small file sizes, without loss of quality. I then drag them into iTunes player and add the tag information. When I converted your Fly Fishing Retailer Shows, they finished at about half your file size.
I know you guys don’t have to worry about file size, but we still have bandwidth caps and other restrictions…
Let’s start by stating that flyfishing in SA is a multimillion dollar industry. There are many jobs that rely solely on it; some towns are completely sustained on the revenue generated by fly fishing.
Then let’s say that flyfishing is not solely reliant on trout, we have “9” indigenous yellow fish species, which are seriously good game on a fly rod. I say “nine” because there are only six true yellowfish, the other three are closely related, and we consider them to be kin… Of these “9” species 4 are rated as extremely vulnerable. Of which 2 are thought to have been extinct, until some localized pockets of fish were discovered, one of which only exists in 4 pools on one stream.
There are many reasons that they are so endangered, one of which is alien and invasive species, one of which is trout, other include small and largemouth bass and carp. In my mind, the bass play a more significant roll, but because they are harder to eradicate, they will be controlled later in the conservation process. There is also a local predator that has crossed water sheds and impacted on the endangered fish. Other reasons include river degradation, water over utilization by farmers, valley and catchment degradation, etc…
I firmly believe that there is cause to remove aliens
