Cameron, Knowing you were raised on white bread, You keep surprising me with your southern chow. Pickled Okra rocks, but I have never seen it in the pickled pigs feet pink – and I’ve never carried it on a fishing trip. That’s awesome.

Bill Webster… are you in Florida? I ask because of the Liver Sausage comment. Growing up my grandfather would make what he called Scrapple or Liver Pudding and would eat it with breakfast or on sandwiches like what you mentioned. I can eat it but I could not say it is a favorite.

    Mike… Awesome

No okra in South Africa!  Mike, you’ve missed out on one of the finest dining experiences a man could ever have!  There’s nothing like fresh picked okra, battered in corn meal, and fried until golden brown.  It makes me hungry just thinking about it!

Mike Anderson,  what kind of boat is that?

    #32258

    It’s a Supreme Jet boat.

Mike… You’ve got it goin on – That is a sweet setup.

    LEAD BREAD

Makes (1) 8.5”x4.5”x2.5” loaf or (3) 5.75”x3.5”x2” loaves Which I use or 18 standard muffins

    Ingredients:
    1 1/4 C 7 grain cereal
    1/4 C unbleached flour
    1/2 C wheat germ
    3/4 C bran
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 C buttermilk
    2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 C honey (more or less depending on how sweet)
1/4 C molasses (more or less depending on how sweet)
(I’ll also use all honey or molasses depending what is in the pantry)
(if going sweet I add a little vanilla and or little cinnamon to change it up a little)

Now… the Americans have questions for you.
    1. Winegums?
    2. Crisps (it sounds like what we call potato chips but I could be way off)
    3. Mince Balls. First what is a Mince? and why his balls? are they hard to catch?

Winegums – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wine_gum soft chewy yummy

Crisps – yip, potato chips, thought crisps was the “international” word???

Mince Balls – took me a while, but hell I LOL’ed really LOL’ed…
no, there is no animal called a Mince, nor do we eat it’s balls, no they are not hard to catch… LOL. Mince up some meat, add some fat, preferably pork fat, add spices, garlic, pesto, chopped tomato, some olive-oil and breadcrumb. Work the mixture till it is nice and firm, make them into balls, and cook… bake, fry, roast, or cover them in a nice thick batter (a liquid mixture of flour, milk, and eggs used in making cakes, pancakes, and puddings, and for coating foods before frying) and deep fry them…

I might have seen it, can’t be sure… I will ask my Portuguese friend if he knows it, and if he can get me some on the market…
