MemberYou could also road trip with them to Dry Run Creek in Arkansas. I have a buddy that drives up for the weekend from Dallas several times a year to fish with us. Dry Run Creek is a kid’s only trout stream with some real pigs in it and definitely will keep the kid’s interested (and is free). There is a campground right next to it on the Norfork river.
(Caution…proud dad photos…)
(6yo Parker caught the rainbow on a worm tied by my 7yo daughter, I don’t know who was more excited.)I will also add, that the kids don’t need waders to fish Dry Run as they have put some nice walking stones along the stream for the kids. Definitely a neat place to take kids to keep them interested in the fishing.
I am headed down on Saturday with my 7yo daughter again.

MemberSince Phil has some experience outside of the fly-fishing mags, I thought I would throw a couple of different whitetail photos up. If the podcast is going to be solely limited to fly-fishing, just delete this post.
Thanks,

MemberMy biggest gripe is the lack of fishing clothing for the big and tall guys.

MemberBuy one of the small little flexipods (e.g. Joby, etc) for your point and shoot and set your point and shoot on the timer setting (keep fish in net and set camera attached to tripod) down on the rock and push shutter.

MemberI use a Joby Gorilla Pod SLR Zoom model with the Joby Ball Head and haven’t had any issues with it using my D200 and Tokina 11-16 2.8 or Tokina 28-70 2.8.

MemberI am kind of surprised that nobody mentioned the new Sage Typhoon packs that are going to be released in Jan/Feb.

(Here is a Review of the Large Waist Pack)or the Sage Typhoon Backpack

They are expensive, and i do wish they had a roll-top option, but they look intriguing.

MemberAfter assessing how much “crap” I can actually get in the 1550 this weekend, I have decided I definitely need to find something smaller.
