MemberThe river was as clear as I remember seeing it, but we had been blessed with some high water the past two years.

Memberwhat did it measure?
Matt Tucker
MemberGood chili starts with the meat. I made a pot yesterday — cost about $90 all said and done. Fed about 10 people.
2 1/2lbs of thick cut bacon (1″ pieces)
2lbs of Ground Pork
5lbs Ground Sirloin
1lb Pork Belly (cubed)
4 Habenero Peppers (de-seeded)
6 Jalapeno’s
2 Yellow Bell Peppers
3 Green Bell Peppers
Tomatoes (peeled / diced)
2 Large Cans of Beans
3lbs Yellow Onions
1 Tall Boy of Budweiser
Spices / Seasoning to TasteI prefer to lose the ground meat and go with cubed flank steak and pork butt, but i was outvoted by my brother who bought the ingredients. The pork belly is where it is at though.

MemberGaston’s tends to get a bad wrap from us flyfisher folks; but to be honest with you I have stayed there several times and enjoyed the stay each time.

I won’t have any qualms about putting some of my camera gear in it when fishing out of a buddy’s boat.

MemberDusty:
The power generation at the dams in the White River system are “peaking” facilities; which means they are “on demand” systems and the generally do not generate power just to generate power (unless they are trying to draw down the level of the lakes — which is the case right now).
I would guess that the status quo for the next few months will be pretty much generation 24/7 with some periods (1/2 day or a day here and there) of low water.

MemberI can’t seem to figure out how to embed video on Zach’s board.

MemberI am going to check out Sagebrush Dry Goods next, in search of the perfect bag.
Matt Tucker
MemberI had to test the bag a little more — considering I had about $2k of AV gear in it yesterday when on the stream.
I filled the bag’s compartments with toilet paper.
Matt Tucker
MemberUsed the pack today, as i took my daughter fishing and wanted to carry some extra clothes for her along with photo / video gear.
