    What size Pelican Case does everyone use to bring your photo gear with you when on a boat?

    I ordered a 1550 w/ dividers and man that thing is HUGE, it will be great to pack gear in for taking on weekend trips and what not but it is definitely a little bigger than I wanted for laying on the floor of my drift boat.

    Pretty sure mines a 1550 and it’s not big enough. I don’t plan on getting bigger just yet as in some odd way I like the fact it *forces* me to choose what I’m going to bring carefully

    Matt,

    I use a 1400 for the boat (photo left) and it works fine.

    After assessing how much “crap” I can actually get in the 1550 this weekend, I have decided I definitely need to find something smaller.

    Matt, nothing says you have to load it for bear. It may not be physically smaller, but will weight alot less. I find I sometimes throw light, personal stuff in the dead space when I load it up for light duty, but want the Pelican for peace of mind.

    Ipod, wallet keys etc. So……………….
    Just something to consider
