    For a D80 and say, a 200mm, a 12-24 and a flash?

Without one (case) in my hands, I have a hard time judging how big or small a case to buy.

    Anyone have a similar setup?

Is it mainly for use as a boat case?

I originally bout a Pelican 1550 (see earlier post) but found it was larger than i wanted in the boat, so also bought a Pelican 1450.

I’ve got the 1600 sitting in my closet and I have to say it’s huge! I wouldn’t want it in my boat or for every day personal use. I got a good deal on it and got the tear out foam for it, except the foam wasn’t in one big piece, instead it’s been torn into blocks and doesn’t stayin place. I should have gotten the dividers…
If you’re looking for a way to keep your gear dry, use dry bags. The case is nice for helping protect it from getting banged up though. Pelican Cases float don’t they?

Dave, the 1550 is about perfect for boats. I fit alot in it when I need to, yet it’s no so large that I can fit more than I need. The temptation to bring “everything” is always present, this way your forced to think about what you want to bring, and what gets left behind.

Chad, they are supposed to float, yes.
