J A Y M O R RMemberThanks Bry and Kelly.
J A Y M O R RMember🙂
J A Y M O R RMemberLightroom 3.0+ has built in tethering. Â I use it a lot on macro/product work and find it to be much better than other software options. Â If you are already using Lightroom then you should have it, unless of course you need to upgrade your version to LR3.
I have bought my camera to PC cords in 12-15ft lengths (gold tip connections) for relatively cheap at places like Walmart or BestBuy. Â Length is a factor and it has been mentioned that lengths beyond 15ft can cause some connection issues. Â I won’t get into to many details about it but just know I have not experienced any of them at 15ft when tethered.
When I shoot any portrait sessions in my office/studio tethered, the client sees my work and it tends to turn into a full on “Chimp” session 😉
I think you will be impressed with the setup in Lightroom 3. Â It is simple, clean and easy to use. Â Select the tether option from the drop down menu.
I hope that helps Kevin. Â Let us know if you go this route.
J A Y M O R RMemberNice to have you over here Allen. Â I would just say…
have fun, shoot what you enjoy, look for opportunities to improve.  The “Spray & Pray” method is something I would steer away from 😉
If you are serious about improving, “study the game” and I promise your imagery will continue to improve. Â You are well on your way.
By the way, you should have prints in your mailbox tomorrow
J A Y M O R RMemberBeautiful work Will.
J A Y M O R RMemberFunny as hell Mark.
J A Y M O R RMemberThanks Ronnie and Mike.
J A Y M O R RMemberA couple more “hand rolled” patterns by Clint Goodman:

J A Y M O R RMemberThanks guys.
J A Y M O R RMemberPrices have already gone back up on several of Nikon bodies and glass.
J A Y M O R RMemberBeautiful JB!
J A Y M O R RMemberNice JB.
J A Y M O R RMemberGreat write up Brian!
J A Y M O R RMemberJB, I also do the same!
J A Y M O R RMemberTo go along with what Roy said, typically Nikon will offer the higher end Pro bodies first as to not cannibalize sales. Â If they learned anything from the D700….”togs” were pissed when they dropped coin on the D3, and then have a smaller body with the same sensor come out in the D700 for half the cost. Â
I think the D400 will have it’s place.
J A Y M O R RMemberLooking forward to the new line up and I as well am waiting. Â As Doug mentions, I hear late August being closer to the release date of both.
I am hoping for a D4.  I love my D700 (Mini D3)!  It has been a wonderful camera and I plan to continue shooting on it for quite some time.  I am not interested in the rumors surrounding the D800, simply because it is touted to smack the 5DMKII around and I am not looking for a slow FPS high MP camera.  The D800 specs rumor a bigger sensor with more MP, slower FPS, full 1080 vid with some compromise to the low-light capabilities that the D700 has now.  No thanks, I will hold out for the big daddy that should be a game changer 😉
Great time to be a Nikonian!
J A Y M O R RMemberBeautiful images. Â I have a few favorites but it is a toss up between these two…

Can’t decide. 😉
J A Y M O R RMemberThat is awesome Cor. Â As mentioned previously to you, I think the layout looks good. Â It is great to hear.
JB, your comments are spot on. Â I think some people are ignorant or may not understand the items you mentioned in your post.
Unlike any other art medium, photography gets a type of stigma that all it takes is the push of a button. Â A great painting or illustration cost hundreds if not thousands, and yet a photograph is looked upon differently. Â I just have to shake my head sometimes.
J A Y M O R RMember~Amen~
Quote from an e-zine editor:
“do you know we are a gallery style magazine? That is a fancy word for no budget for contributors. We just have not got enough advertiser yet. But, we are hearing some good things out there. Â Of course we will link your website to help promote you.”
____ Magazine.
Similar type of stuff Kurt, check my FB profile page about half way down. Â I have been doing my best to be as cordial and professional as possible with people. Â That is the response I have been giving. Â I hope it helps anyone when putting together a reply. Â It is sad, there really is some beautiful and amazing work being shared in a lot of the online rags. Â It is a catch 22 because I have enjoyed contributing to many of them in the past, however when it comes time to submit or have a photo request from an editor such as Phil, the first question asked is… “has this image been published anywhere else?”. Â I think there can be a healthy balance, but that balance is different for every photog. Â What I learned was the more I gave, more people took, and that became the expectation, not to mention the lack of a simple “Thank You”. Â
J A Y M O R RMemberCool shots Doug.
