But this happened when the TCX was launched I remember. Maybe in previous periods as well, can’t remember.

Sage is THE premium fly rod brand. Why do they let their website lag behind their own news?

I’ve never understood why Sage still has the old stuff on their web site when their new stuff is all over the internet…

I use a lot of tippet so I want a brand that makes 100 meter spools. I have been using Rio the past years. But also Climax and SA makes 10 meter spools.

So basically no preference in terms of brand.

Yeah, those weird Japanese folks always want the best of the best to the extreme.

And yes, most of the gear is never or rarely used. I bet there are tons of Ultra Platinum capes in Japan gathering ‘dust’ in tying bins…  😀

John, eventually the English (or European) fishing law got booted!

Can’t imagine how that would be out here….

    Absolutely!

I was listening to a podcast about NZ fishing and the settlers from England made sure that the private ownership of rivers & streams should be left in England. The state owns the rivers and everyone is allowed to fish.

    Sounds good…

The further you go from the central Alp region, the lower the altitudes with rivers & streams less suitable for trout. The Dutch & German border being the last bit of area with trout.

    * Belgium => complex licensing system (e.g. you need a state license as well as the license of the beat. The state license can differ from wading or walking along the banks!  😮

    Thanks Zach!

It’s a Summers cane rod with indeed a Hardy St George reel.

When possible I try to use cane because it really gives me a kick to know that we got all those high end equipment ‘around’ the rod and yet a cane rod gets the job done.

Kinda weird I know, but that’s me  😀

The waxed IA hat is great. I’m sure it looks better with age & use.

The live music was a real atmosphere booster. You had to be there.

    Try Knot Sense from Loon.
Just a little dab on it, use UV light or sun light to get it sealed. Roll a bit with your finger to get it even a bit.
