Does anyone have a good method of repairing nicks in the fly line coating?

Leave it alone and learn to live with it.

Heat shrink tubing in a small section over the nick.

Which is the same thing as re-flowing the PVC.

They used to sell all those crappy loop to loop connectors with heat shrink tubing to attach the butt ends; I got pretty good at waving a lighter back and forth under a line to shrink them up.

light coating, then peel the rest off after a day or two.
    works every time.

dont throw the line away. if it is at the very fornt, cut it off.

This method is probably not as elegant as the shrink wrap, but I tie a nail knot over the nick if it is bad and coat it with super glue or Zap a Gap.

    Try Knot Sense from Loon.
Just a little dab on it, use UV light or sun light to get it sealed. Roll a bit with your finger to get it even a bit.

I’ve used the Cortland Loop Connectors on some of my fly lines with the shrink tubing.
