What are you using to munch and display the logs? If you need something custom you can send me some requirements and a sample of the log (with the ips obscured) and I can guide you through writing a perl or PHP script to parse it, but you may just be able to do it by chaining together some sed, awk, or grep commands from your OSX command line to parse it. Email me if you want some help.

He took a size 12 Olive Bead Head Woolly Bugger stripped really slow on the bottom. It wasn’t that far of a cast maybe 15 ft, but finally everything came together.

My name is Grant Schofield and I am from Oklahoma City. I am a 26 year old father of 2 and a computer geek by trade. I have been fly fishing for close to 5 years, but this year, with a lot of success, have tried to spend a lot more time on the water fishing for things that aren’t trout.

I have used a Rhino 120 as my primary GPS for a few months now and it gets the job done, but I do wish it were a little smaller. I don’t really every use the radio feature but if I had more regular fishing partners it may be more handy.

I was cruising around the Orvis site tonight and came across the info for the Orvis certified guides. There isn’t too much there, but thought it might be helpful.

I have had my Force 2/2X LT for a while now and have loved it from day one. I mainly fish mine on a 4 wt and love how light and tough it is.

There aren’t any Cutthroat in VT to my knowledge, but you could take a shot at some landlocked atlantic salmon.

Love the new design. The only thing that really stuck out at me (and I think made things hard to read) is the default a:vistited of #FFFFFF. White against the light gray makes it hard to read.

in reply to: Stocked Taimen or Huchen? #18173

James Prosek mentions in Trout of the World that there was an attempt to stock Huchen in England and in the North East USA to replace Atlantic Salmon, but it was unsuccessful. I too had the same question a few months back and couldn’t turn up any information online. I am sure all the info is tucked away in a thesis somewhere.

I currently have a TFO Pro and TFO Finesse 4wt. I bought the Finesse when my Pro just snapped in the third section while playing a fish. I needed a rod that day since I can’t stand to use my Bass Pro 6wt for nymphing. I think the reason the G/G2 series is appealing to me is that it feels like a step up in feel but with action that I can handle (most faster rods feel like they are pushing me too hard). I think I will be looking for a 3wt and 6wt over the next year because

I can’t wait to listen. For some reason I have an irrational love for Scott brought about by the talk here and other places. For some reason the Scott G2 seems to bend to my will (or I to its) and it feels right for my stroke. Perhaps its all in my head as I haven’t cast everything, but they seem to hold their value quite well and if I am completely unhappy I shouldn’t be out too much money.

What are some of the older G Series that people would suggest? I would love to take a chance on some of those as well.

in reply to: Missouri Spring Creeks #17226

My folks have a place right by the Lower Illinois and I have fished it a fair amount. It is great that it is a year round fishery, but during the spring and summer the traffic is quite high and you also have to contend with a lot of generation.

in reply to: Missouri Spring Creeks #17224

The LMF can get crowded at times, but it is a great fishery and has lots of varied fishing challanges. I try and get down there every chance I get. There are even rumors of a nother rainbow spawn this year. So there are your wild fish to keep in the spirit of the thread.

If you guys want any tag alongs for your wild weekend I would try to come up from OK in a heartbeat.

in reply to: Missouri Spring Creeks #17218

If your looking for wild rainbow in Missouri one really fun place to fish is the North Fork of the White River in/around Dora, MO. You can get some more info here: http://www.riveroflifefarm.com/.

Going was a really great experience that was filled with solitude and very shy fish. I had a great day despite my abilities at the time and I caught one of my most favorite browns to date.
