I am a complete idiot when it comes to computers…but I stay logged on (to this site) at the office PC all the time.

On the main page, where you see the names of the various boards, scroll all the way to the bottom.
Well, and so it appears we had 410 unique people on the board in the last 24 hours – not too shabby.
What are you using to munch and display the logs? If you need something custom you can send me some requirements and a sample of the log (with the ips obscured) and I can guide you through writing a perl or PHP script to parse it, but you may just be able to do it by chaining together some sed, awk, or grep commands from your OSX command line to parse it. Email me if you want some help.

I kind of noticed the same thing on one of the sites as well Zack. Probably the same place as I was once a frequent contributor there as well. I don’t agree with the practice either as it seemed that overnight they more than tripled the amount of active users while post counts declined and several people posted that they were leaving that site. I don’t have a probelm with getting advertising sponsorship on a site but I don’t agree with manipulated data.
