    Hey guys –

New tomorrow morning (sorry; firm release on this one): Made in America with Jim Bartschi, President of Scott Fly Rods.

Scott Fly Rods may well be the last all-American fly rod company.

I can’t wait to listen. For some reason I have an irrational love for Scott brought about by the talk here and other places. For some reason the Scott G2 seems to bend to my will (or I to its) and it feels right for my stroke. Perhaps its all in my head as I haven’t cast everything, but they seem to hold their value quite well and if I am completely unhappy I shouldn’t be out too much money.

What are some of the older G Series that people would suggest? I would love to take a chance on some of those as well.

    Hi Grant,

I have the G 7’6 #2 and it’s been my yardstick for judging the quality of light rods for over ten years.

    Also had a throw of a G 8’8 #3 the other day and it’s a great rod.

In the G2’s I have the 7’7 #2 and have had a cast of the 4 weight, both are very nice rods as well.

Scott make great light rods if you ask me.. 🙂

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

I currently have a TFO Pro and TFO Finesse 4wt. I bought the Finesse when my Pro just snapped in the third section while playing a fish. I needed a rod that day since I can’t stand to use my Bass Pro 6wt for nymphing. I think the reason the G/G2 series is appealing to me is that it feels like a step up in feel but with action that I can handle (most faster rods feel like they are pushing me too hard). I think I will be looking for a 3wt and 6wt over the next year because

    I second the 8’8″ 3 wt.

Awesome interview, great questions I like that many of the questions were based on a lot of banter found on boards.

Awesome interview – what a cool guy and great insight into a rod company..
    Great work Zach..

Interesting as well that every time I put one of my Scotts into the Volvo I’m buttering Fords bread on two sides..

Being a technophope, this is the first podcast I have actually been able to play.
