I guess i will be the lone dissenter here and say that i shoot mostly jpeg, probably 90% of the time.

For those interested, a buddy went to detroit for the parade, and got into Cheli’s, the restaurant owned by Chelios.
I don’t know about the 60’s music, but if i came home from a fishing trip with pictures like that m wife would put all my rods in the ceiling fan!!
Aaron, i don’t know exactly how tht shot was done, but i think you are close. The way the canon system works is that the camera exposure sets itself based on the ambient light, and then the flash will pop prior to the shutter to determine the flash exposure. When you adjust exposure in camera, it will effect only the background, or what isn’t being lit by the flash. The flash exposure compensation will effect what is being lit by flash.

All i got to say is i would have tracked Hudler down myself and flogged him with my 8 wt had that penalty he took at the end turned into a goal!!
I was looking into some sort of hot swappable solution also, but haven’t spent the time to really figure it out.

The firewire drive i’ve been using for onsite backups is getting to the point where it runs out of room to quickly, and still doesn’t provide you much protection from a total failure since i have no regular I’ve checked into raid drives, the the consensus on them is that they are great for data security (redundancy), but they still don’t protect you from a catastorphic failure.
All good comments… also, make sure you go somewhere and touch/feel the cameras. The 40D is going to be much more robust, heavier, etc., than the xti. Maybe not that big of a deal, but if most of your shots are going to be of the kids at disney type family trip type of thing, the weight and size may be an issue. I tried carrying the 30D for a day at disney this past spring break and i hated it.
