MemberI want to know about the diseased ones.
Thought I’d update this thread … My buddy finally heard back from fish and game in WY. Here is the reply and a link to a couple of pics if you wanted to see them. It was a bit shocking at the time to catch them, but i am glad they are “part of the program”.. Doubt I’d eat one .. smoked or otherwise.

MemberThis is NOT my car .. but I couldn’t resist posting it to this thread. In my opinion it is the best fishing ride I have seen! Elvis was on the side panel.

MemberThe thing I have really been enjoying about photography is that it seems to be a never ending process to get really good images. Similar to what John said … To be able to combine all of the technical requirements with all of the artistic ideas, and then add all of options available when post processing on top of that … Its an endless process of learning.
I do exactly what Ben mentioned and I think it has helped me to progress the most .. I started to pay attention to what photographs, of other photographers, I really like and determine what it is about those photos that inspires me. I save out my ‘favorite’ photos and go back to look at them as a body, see the characteristics that stick out at me and help to define what I would like to see emerge in my personal ‘style’.

MemberRich .. I really like the “Unloading gear on the glacier.” shot .. Nice capture!

MemberMore nice stuff! I love that first shot! The water, refraction, and the fish .. Way cool!

MemberCameron .. I saw that! Thanks for the huge compliment. I know I have sooooo much more to learn, especially from all of the ultra talented people on this board! Believe it or not, it was Zachs first podcast that really got me thinking about mixing-up photography and fly fishing.

Member#’s 1, 2, and 10 specifically
I’ll look at the layers in my PSDs tonight to see exactly what I did to them, but .. right now i can say that
#1 – Fairly true to the RAW … Standard adjustments of the horizon, crop, color balance, levels, contrast, and sharpen (if needed). I Pulled out the flag pole and desaturated it a bit.
#2 – Tone mapped and reduced the effect by layering it in PS. Prob the most PPing of the bunch, because of that.
#10 -Also fairly true to the RAW .. I did my standard adjusted the horizon, crop, color balance, levels, contrast, and sharpen (if needed). I didn’t mess with this one much.

MemberHow much PP on those shots?
I usually do a bit of PP on everything .. How much really depends on the shot.. Were you wondering about any of them specifically? The only real alteration of these photos was .. I took a flag and pole out of #1 … and removed a wire/fence from #5
