MemberHighlights for me were:
The new Korkers sole system was pretty damn cool IMO .. No key!
I am looking forward to getting ahold of the SA textured line seemed to have quite a bit less texture than the sharkskin and should generate less noise.
No Simms booth .. No Patagonia booth

MemberZach .. It seems pretty on-topic and I would be very interested to hear what the development costs of a high-end rod are. Is there any public information available, or do you happen to know, about what the cost of research, development, and production of a “typical” high-end rod? What is the profit % right out of the gate, if any?

MemberI guess the prices will be dripping also since you have no insurance so to speak ::)
You would think, but dont bet on it … I will be voting with my wallet and the best warranty will always weigh heavily into my purchase. I agree with Zach to a point… People should be careful with their gear, and not take advantage of the system.
I do have to say .. I really like the fact that you can order a new rod tip on the st croix website.

MemberThanks Tim and Doug! Tim .. No we didn’t go up to the lake and I have to say the fishing was better the further in we hiked!

MemberDamn nice report and fishing!

MemberThey do make UV headlamps (I have one) for searching for spiders and scorpions, which actually fluoresce under them. Â You might, as photographer, wear one or two and just hammer your subjects with blacklight as you shoot.
Would love to see how your photos turn out .. Great idea about the headlamp Zach. Sorry for the hijack, but that sounds really cool! I need to get one for trips to the desert with my boy … He’ll love scorpion hunts @ night!

MemberThanks for the compliments on the photos. Hopefully, Bry and Doug will find time to start a thread or add to this one. 🙂
That beached whale was pretty funny. We saw it from a little way away and couldn’t “really” make out what it was, but I thought I saw a whale in the shape. ended up I was right! Lol. It had been towing a raft, popped and deflated when we got to it.  😮
These grayling are pretty special IMO. Part of a fluvial grayling transplant program in Montana .. Â I had been meaning to get back to this spot for a couple years and finally made it!
Adam: The morning was pretty cool with showers off and on a couple of times. That SF Skiff is pretty cool little boat.
Mike: Yeah, the Jeff. Beautiful river.  😉
Jim: Yeah .. Carlos was a cool guy! I really enjoyed getting to know him and fishing with him for the day.
