I was up in Maine grouse hunting for their opening day…I got spoiled and the wind really kept me disinterested.

Mike, one thing that i have noticed with rainbow trout in general, is that holding the fish at the right angle is important to get a good view of the colors.

I want to chime in on this one so bad, but i refuse to discuss college football until this ridiculous system for picking the championship game is done away with.

    It’s most undoubtedly a double edge sword…

The most positive thing that i have garnered from it is relationships with other anglers.

I have Two actually….they sit quietly, or when i wade out, proceed to remove sticks and other structure from the bank so that when i land a fish it does not get caught up in the debris…(probably NOT why they do it, but i like to think so!) They also can do a wonderful job of clearing me out a spot to fish and keeping interlopers away!!!

as demonstrated by the 3rd photo!!

CF for streamers and nymphs…. Film and advil containers for bass and carp flies…the clear boxes with square compartments for dry flies…and a small (name esacpes me but its asian) yellow box with magnets from tiemco hook packets epoxied in for midges, tricos and other tiny tiny flies…

none are water proof enough for the delaware and nipple deep wading though 🙂 have found that shoving boxes deep into my waders keeps them pretty dry!

John’s post also reminded me of another HUGELY important thing to remember about night fishing…DO it with a fishing buddy…not a good idea to be tromping around in the dark by yourself…plus its alot easier to net the big boys with two people…but mainly good for safety reasons.

John there was no glare by the time you hooked that 2nd pig…that was night vision 😉   and a little Irish ingenuity…
