Yesterday was the opener for PA & woodcock grouse.

I was up in Maine grouse hunting for their opening day…I got spoiled and the wind really kept me disinterested.

Dave I grew up in that area of PA. You brought back some fine memories. Miss bird hunting and seems tougher and tougher to get access on good land that holds birds. I have heard of some grouse in the NC mountains but never tried it.

I sounds like grouse hunting in western PA is significantly better than eastern PA! I hunted Pike County on Saturday morning and didn’t get a flush. But then again, I didn’t get to scout any this past spring.
