The G-loomis Cross current is a sick 8 wt rod.
Neat report, bummer about the rod tip, but if you aren’t breakin em, you aren’t fishin em!

Loomis’s now $100 dollar expediter service is still well worth it, 100 bucks and you get a brand new rod and tube shipped to you within 2 days, at least, that is what i believe it is now.

Pennsylvania left off i can agree with. If we had a fish commission that could manage fishing worth a darn, it could be number 2.

John, That is a great photo, I have tried a few times to get some shots like that, but never get the right place right time…and if I do, my awestruck expression prevents me from clicking the shutter…

    great shot man.

Dave, you pick carp up on those guys? I’ve been trying to expand my carping arsenal since last summer, and wasn’t sure if clousers had enough movement in slow water for carp.

BTW we still need to get the heck out and wet a line together one of these days.

John, photos like that are the single reason that I got a digital SLR, however I think I need to get some better glass than the canon 70-300 i currently have, I am just having a heck of a time getting the sharpness I want.

Similarly to Michael, I carry a nalgene bottle if I will be close to the car or it is a shorter trip, attached to my belt and often in the water if I am wading deep.

Todd, Tippet dispensers are to me, one of the most frustrating things around.

size 22’s and 24’s launching out of the jaws of my regal, Sometimes, that is pretty scary, I have 20-20 vision still, thank god, and have no need for glasses, so i am pretty unprotected.

I think that is a concern worth mentioning…

There is a commercial, sort of well known tier i know, he put out some DVD’s and I THINK, he had a pretty high tri-pod and it was sort of over the shoulder, but zoomed in, something like that, I’d have to shoot him a email and ask, but i know he had a DVD he put out, so I’m sure he might have a tip or two so to speak.

The dark shirt idea is a pretty good one, i’ve seen that before i believe…

Ahem, I did forget to clean the lens on the second photo, the picture is really showing the darkening valley and low cloud cover, not the dust.

I would amend Tim’s Statement to “it is impossible to beat big fish on dry flies”

Awesome Shots, btw you said you only caught 1 brown trout in 5 days, did you mean rainbow? I’m a bit confused by that.
