Cameron MortensonMemberYeah…I was wondering about that hump as well.
Cameron MortensonMemberThe owner of the pond says it is because the water is so murky.
Cameron MortensonMemberMike A…I don’t know…I only paid $57 for it with shipping off ebay.
The ebay market is weird…I picked up a Heddon five weight for $60 or so a couple of weeks ago…and the same rod just sold yesterday for $102.
Cameron MortensonMemberYeah…it is a bit gaudy…but I thought that it would look neat in photographs.
Cameron MortensonMemberI’ve got the Pentax Optio W20, which is the older model than Ness has.
Cameron MortensonMemberWell…the Garcia Conolon seven weight arrived today and it couldn’t be in nicer condition.
Cameron MortensonMemberIt is amazing how much interest there is fiberglass rods in the last couple of years.
Cameron MortensonMemberHa.
Cameron MortensonMemberBryan…my opinion is that glass really shines in the six and a half to eight foot range.
Cameron MortensonMemberCarter…heres the link:
Cameron MortensonMemberWhen I first started this glass obsession I was all about the seven foot five weights, but lately I’ve been on the pond and enjoyed a eight foot seven weight so much that I am hunting those down on ebay.
I won this rod last night. I am hoping to get some use out of this rod on the pond quite soon.

If you asked for a list of good blanks for salt and big water I am sure that you get some great answers.
Cameron MortensonMemberExcellent looking flies.
Cameron MortensonMemberGreat trip essay and photographs.
Cameron MortensonMemberDamn…first the whistle (safety issue)…and now the gloves (fair skin). It isn’t like I was wearing a PINK SHIRT…ha. (Sorry Zach…I couldn’t help myself)
The photograph above was of a RS-2 that bent open from the run of a pretty stout fish. Since the three of us had never been to the Reef before…we were quite surprised that these fish on the norm take you way into your backing, break off 3X, and bend or break hooks.
nemoblackdog…if you aren’t afraid of a good hike…message me. I used to live Northern Colorado right after we were married…and have a few really neat places I could share. Most involve a “moderate” hike…according to the guide books…though I’d classify them as moderate/hard.
Chad…I ended up using my wife’s point and shoot in macro setting.
Cameron MortensonMembernemoblackdog…we were actually using mono.
Cameron MortensonMemberMoosedog…don’t let those tiny hooks scare you.
Cameron MortensonMemberGreat Fish Moosedog…
That first trout is a pig with fins.
Cameron MortensonMemberI think the Cliff Outdoors Float Patch is about $10.
It should be pretty handy to have in the boat.
Cameron MortensonMemberI cast right handed…and then reel right handed.
Cameron MortensonMemberYeah…I am looking for a South Bend 1144 or 1155 (think bright red click and pawl) to put on a eight and a half foot eight weight Garcia Conolon (bright blue fiberglass rod) to use for stripers and maybe even salt.
